Insurance Claims
We pay our insurance premiums in good faith, trusting that our insurance company will hold up its end of the contract in the event that we suffer a covered loss or claim.
Too often, however, policyholders find their claims denied by their insurance companies. The insurance company may claim that the damage is not covered under the specific terms of the policy or offer reimbursement that may seem insufficient.
If an insurance company asks for what is called an Examination under Oath (EUO), or assigns your claim to its Special Investigative Unit (SIU), then you should immediately contact us in order to protect yourself. These acts are simply the beginning of the insurance company’s claim denial process
Goldberg & Dohan litigates insurance claim cases aggressively, and at no cost to the Policyholder. The Law normally provides that the insurance company pays the fees and costs associated with having to hire an attorney.
The language in insurance policies is purposefully confusing and often virtually impossible for many people to understand. You may feel intimidated by a claims adjuster or another representative who state that coverage does not apply, or even that if you take action, you will create legal problems for yourself.
Our insurance attorneys, professional staff and outside expert resources are equipped to deal with the fact-intensive investigation, negotiations and litigation that may be required to obtain the outcome you deserve. We refuse to be intimidated by the wealth and power of insurance companies or the “deny, delay and defend” tactics of their adjusters and lawyers.
